Mitzi Kapture is an American actress from Yorba Linda, California. She is best known for her role as Sgt. Rita Lee Lance in the crime drama television series Silk Stalkings from 1991 to 1995. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and began her career in films.
Career
Before working on television, she worked in films including Lethal Pursuit (1988), Angel III: The Final Chapter (1988), Liberty & Bash (1989), and The Vagrant (1992). She gained the best recognition with her first regular series role in the television series Silk Stalkings, where she played Sergeant Rita Lee Lance.
The series premiered on CBS and USA but later moved only to USA Network. The show aired for eight seasons and became the USA network’s highest-graded original drama series. She played Rita, the other half of the two Sams, for almost five years with Rob Estes.
Kapture gained recognition along with her co-star. Her role, Sergeant Lance, finally became Lieutenant Lance by the time. But Kapture left the series to have her first daughter in 1995. During her time with the series, she also directed episodes.
Mitzi Kapture returned to television in 1997. She played lead roles in two made-for-USA-Network movies, including Perfect Crime (based on a true story) and His Bodyguard. She returned to action drama television series in a lead role on Baywatch as Alexis Ryker.
From 2002 through 2005, she played on the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, credited as Mitzi Kapture Donahue (née Donahue). Kapture also starred in the made-for-Lifetime television movie Night of Terror (2007).
Mitzi Kapture played the role of a therapist specializing in autism in her latest film God’s Ears (2008) and guest-starred in an episode of the sitcom Rule of Engagement.
